Curly Wurly salted caramel cake!

Ingredients -

200g unsalted butter

200g golden caster sugar

250g self raising flour

100ml whole milk

4 medium eggs

1 tsp salted caramel flavouring

A pinch of salt


Salted caramel buttercream -

200g unsalted butter

400g icing sugar

150g caramel

A pinch of salt


Optional - Curly Wurlies

Fudge pieces


Instructions -

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees fan and grease and flour three 8” cake tins.

  2. In a bowl beat together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add in the salted caramel flavouring, milk and the eggs one by one. Mix until just combined.

  4. Add in the flour and salt and mix until combined.

  5. Pour the batter evenly between the cake tins and place in the oven.

  6. Bake for 20 mins or until golden brown.

  7. Once baked set aside to cool.


Buttercream -

  1. Beat together the butter and icing sugar until fluffy.

  2. Add in the caramel and salt to taste, mix until smooth.


Decoration -

  1. Either pipe or spread the buttercream on to the first layer of cake.

  2. Place the second layer on top of the first and repeat step 1.

  3. Repeat for the last layer and decorate the cake as you wish.

  4. Enjoy!
